SIP ON THIS
Because it’s 11:00am Somewhere

Friends, if you are reading this today happy Sunday! I hope you have had a delicious cup of coffee by now. I am still waiting on mine because my sister decided to get some without me this morning. Rude! I thought a good way to get me motivated to finally get off the couch and to a coffee shop is to write a quick blog. I wanted to keep it short and sweet so I present to you my latest master piece….. 5 fun facts about the beloved cappuccino. And then seriously I need to get one!
Fun fact 1:
Today there are many styles of cappuccino that are associated with different parts of the world. You have the “Traditional”, “Latte Art”, “Iced Cappuccino”(I tried ordering this in Barcelona this past summer only to find out it’s not a traditional style there. Luckily the barista was friendly and thought my friend and I were cute and agreed to do his take on the name.), and last but definitely not least, the “Cappuccino Freddo” (which was my go to drink in Cyprus and Greece).
However, we didn’t always have such a diverse option to choose from…
Fun fact 2:
When we think about the traditional cappuccino the secret is in the sauce! The ratio of espresso, steamed milk, and foam is the key to making a cappuccino distinct from other espresso based drinks.
So who invented this brilliant work of art?!
Fun fact 3:
Italians! Obviously =) This Italian kept secret wasn’t introduced outside of Italy until the mid 1900s.
Fun fact 4:
It’s name “Capuchin” is inspired by the color of the Franciscan’s habit.
Leave it to the Italians to name coffee after fashion! They definitely are ones to watch their figure which brings me to the last …..
Fun fact 5:
In Italy, cappuccinos are drank up until 11am due to the belief that the milk is too heavy to digest later in the day. No wonder they rock the skinny jeans so well.
Happy Sipping!
Xoxo,
The Sisters
